++ today is my 1/2 birthday! (i know, i'm weird.) many years ago i started my own tradition: half birthdays are celebrated with a milkshake. i'm driving an hour later today just to get a decent one but i don't care!
++ today is veronica's birthday! we have opposite birthdays, how cool is that?
- people going through my stuff
+ i have the house to myself for the next week and a half
+++++++ i am moving in five weeks
- still don't have a job lined up
+ but i am looking!
- reading stuff about certification requirements gave me a huge panic attack last night
+ for about ten minutes. and then... problem solved!
--- PRAXIS II exams. which, aside from being a huge pain, also cost $$$
- spring break is over -- back to the grind tomorrow
++ started packing for my move
- how am i going to pay for my move? who knows
+ i put the "ok" in "broke"
- getting rid of books and comics and art supplies
++ less to pack and unpack and worry about
+++++++ I AM MOVING IN FIVE WEEKS!!!

Help

I’m still laughing about putting the “ok” in Broke! NICE!
you know how we roll in the dirty south ;)
seriously though, i am grateful for all the years i have spent poor. i think being able to make so much out of so little is a situation that, with the right attitude, can be done joyously and is incredibly freeing. i've experienced more creativity in making ends meet than i ever will with a paintbrush. i am more than “ok” with being broke and if i had more money i would just end up giving it away anyway :)
i don't know what i will do with myself in a few months when i can my bills on time AND buy groceries!!
Happy half a Birthday…..is that the correct phrasing?……………I don't know……I think you should move to Myrtle Beach….this town sorely needs your great energy…..but then again…do you need Myrtle Beach?….hmm….probably not…oh well…I tried
Thanks Dennis!! I have spent some time in various parts of South Carolina (mostly Columbia and Hilton Head Island) and I don't think it's really for me. Good try though =) =)
Good luck in the move! I know how relocating to a different part of the country is…I've done it a couple times, and right now, Ive been in the middle of it for the last three or four months…Half my stuff is being stored in the corner of my friends room since December on the East Coast (practically) while I've been trying to make enough money to move back from the West Coast and sleeping on couches….
When me and my belongings meet again it will feel like Christmas in June!
Im sending you positive thoughts!
Thanks Stella! I feel like I have been moving back and forth across the country my whole life and I should be used to it now, but I'm not and it still causes me a lot of stress each time. I've gotten to the point where I don't even really unpack anymore because it's just not worth it. Hoping my next move will be different and to a good place. I so hear you about having your stuff scattered across different states! I've done that a few times and couldn't get back to retrieve anything for over a year. The funny thing though is that I realized the stuff must have not been that important if I could go a year without it, and so I just walked away….. Things have been considerably lighter ever since =)
